Newstravels is a documentary that was made to satisfy some personal perpetual questions 1997/8. the basic premise was simple. i hitchhiked from one geographical extreme of nz (cape reianga in the north) to the other (bluff in the south). during this journey, i interviewed the many generous people that gave me a ride. particularly about their views of local and international events that they had been made aware of.

i include this piece here, as it illustrates my major preoccupation regarding the dissemination of information and tit's effect on knowledge of a population.		 choosing hitchhiking was an important part of the idea, as it ensured that only random people were interviewed. removing any chance for me to rely on my own preconceptions and bias.
